Women Talk Tech Podcast just made a new friend: Intel
The Women Talk Tech podcast was launched two years ago by Marie Wiese to showcase women in the tech sector and the challenges and opportunities they have seized to create careers in the sector. The mission of Women Talk tech is to inspire women to enter or stay int he sector and help tech companies identify gaps in their hiring, workplace or mentorship programs that will improve the numbers of women getting into tech.
Intel recently signed on as a corporate sponsor for Women Talk Tech Podcast since the company is committed to driving diversity and inclusion initiatives industry-wide.
“The numbers are not moving in the right direction,” said Marie Wiese. “There are companies, like Intel, stepping up to improve diversity and inclusion but we still have work to do. The tech sector, as it moves into its next phase of evolution, is where jobs are being created and the next generation of technology will advance. Women need to be part of shaping the sector. Its an economic issue, a tech development issue and a community issue.”
According to Intel, the company is committed to building an inclusive workplace and closing the gender and underrepresented minority gap in tech. Intel recently achieved full representation in its US workforce to years ahead of schedule and achieved gender pay equity globally. Even with this progress, the company notes that there is still more to do.
Incredible Intel female leaders will be highlighted on Women Talk tech over the course of the year, as will other trail blazers in the sector.
